This is the premier program in our studio. It is an innovative way for students to learn to play the piano.
Some groups will be developed for a specific level or age. Some will be multiple levels and ages.
Why Groups?
The purpose of this program is to address the #1 problem that piano students have.
The difficulty of home practice.
Many children dread home practice for one reason: It takes too much work. We simply do not have the time to practice with repetition or to drill those tough parts in the lesson.

This is true of most piano studios and music schools in the U.S. There is just so much to do in 30 minutes.
Groups solve this problem.
The Accelerate curriculum:
- Lasts for 50-55 min each week depending on the group
- Has been shown to dramatically improve a student’s sight-reading skills…. this is the #1 skill that students need to learn music quickly
- Students take advantage of cutting edge technology with the Piano Express App
- Helps students move through their books faster
- Allows the student to learn more music each week… this translates into faster completion time
- Includes proven practice techniques so home practice is all about review and increasing speed – less tedium = more fun at home.
- Will minimize your need to supervise practice at home with younger students.
- Discovery time during lessons each week: theory, technic and playing music out loud together.
- Students will have the opportunity to play the songs they are working on for the group some weeks. This is a chance to perform for others and also receive affirmation from the group.
- BONUS: Students will work on Ensemble playing occasionally. This will build ability to be able to play in a group. This is incredibly valuable life skills so students would be able to play with a band or group of musicians.
- BONUS: We play concept reinforcing games.
